Lori Fravel, LPC

Lori Fravel, a Licensed Professional Counselor, is a compassionate therapist with a strength-based approach to therapy.  She enjoys working with all ages for improved mental health functioning, behavioral concerns, and coping skills due to depression, anxiety, and trauma.  Lori provides skilled guidance for sorting through tough situations with strategies to solve problems, improve communication, understand behaviors, and strengthen relationships.

Working with children, adolescents, and their families for twenty-five years, first as a teacher and now as a family therapist, she is passionate about helping children learn how to manage their behavior, express feelings, and overcome challenges.  Lori finds it rewarding to coach parents on how to support their children in more helpful ways so that families may move forward together to develop healthier and stronger lives.  She emphasizes creating calmness and support to improve behavior at home and school as well as increasing self-esteem and developing positive relationships with others.

In addition to using a solution-focused and strength-based approach, Lori uses positive psychology and trauma–based therapy interventions such as trauma informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy, Brainspotting, and play therapy.

Lori graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education from Western State College (Colorado) and a Master of Science degree from Capella University in counseling psychology.

In her spare time, Lori enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, gardening, and spending time with her husband, two sons, and two dogs.
