Steven Fricke, LPC

Steven Fricke, a licensed professional counselor, works with adolescents 13-17, adults aged 18–80+, couples, and families. He enjoys working with adults for improved communication, relationship issues, suicidal ideation, self-harm, and coping skills due to depression, anxiety, anger issues, sleep problems, and trauma. Steven believes it is important to maintain a nonjudgmental atmosphere. His goal is to meet people where they’re at and help provide guidance to sort through difficult situations.

Steven has gained a lot of experience in his young career over the last six years, ranging from working with inmates at Green Lake County jail, working in outpatient, working with families and individuals for Jefferson County, as well as working in a homeless shelter. He is passionate about helping adults break through generational traumas. Steven finds it rewarding to coach patients on setting boundaries, expressing feelings in an assertive manner, and helping patients to overcome daily life challenges. He emphasizes creating a safe space where patients can be themselves.

He uses a variety of approaches such as trauma informed care, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), strength-based approach, and positive psychology. He continues to grow by seeking out professional development activities and staying up to date with new research findings to best help the clients whom he is honored to work with.

Steven graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from UW-Oshkosh and a Master of Arts degree in community counseling from Lakeland University. In his spare time, Steven enjoys playing his acoustic and electric guitar, singing, doing martial arts (Krav Maga), playing video games, and spending time with his fiancé, two daughters, and one son.
